Travis Credit Union will match donations to Diablo Meals on Wheels

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY — Meals on Wheels Diablo Region is participating in the Travis Credit Union Foundation’s Community Funding Initiative, with donations made by Sept. 30 matched dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000.

Since March, MOW has seen a 40 percent increase in clients needing delivered meals. The group’s Friendly Callers are also reaching out to isolated seniors to provide a caring voice. More seniors are turning to the Care Management team to help them with depression, housing, elder abuse and other issues.

MOW Diablo Region is a non-county, independent nonprofit. It remains the only Meals on Wheels that delivers both meals and services in the entire county. The matching gift program is a huge opportunity to help the group deliver the meals and help seniors stay in their homes, healthy and with dignity.
