The Maids of Concord shares some tips for international coffee day

CONCORD, CA (Oct. 1, 2021) — Raise your hand if coffee is key to your survival.

But when’s the last time you properly cleaned your coffeemaker? This #InternationalCoffeeDay The Maids of Concord shares tips on how to keep this vital appliance in perfect (and clean) working order.

1) Always follow manufacturer instructions for cleaning your specific machine. Only use recommended products.

2) Descale the machine using whatever cleaning solution is recommended. The most common types are Lactic Acid & Citric Acid. For some coffee makers, vinegar is perfectly alright as well.

3) Fill the reservoir with water and the recommended amount of descaling solution.

4) Run the descaling cycle.

5) Clean the visible parts of your machine with a household cleaner and remove any residue.

6) Follow with a “rinse”- both inside and outside of your machine. Wipe off any extra cleaner with a damp rag and run 2-3 cycles of clean water through the system to remove any solution.

7) Try to do this quarterly. (Whenever a new season starts is a good reminder)
