CLAYTON, CA—Clayton resident Charlie Pesmark, 19, received the 2020 Golden Gate Council Glen A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award during an online ceremony hosted by Las Aguilas de Diablo on Oct. 28.

Las Aguilas de Diablo provides an opportunity for successful business people and community leaders to further promote the ideals of Scouting by giving back some of their time, talent and treasure to benefit the young leaders of tomorrow.

Pesmark earned his Eagle rank on Jan. 10, 2019, and had his Eagle Court of honor on May 30, 2019. He also graduated from Clayton Valley Charter High School that year.

“Pez’s Project” benefited the Concord Mount Diablo Trail Ride Association located on the slopes of Mt. Diablo off Marsh Creek. Assisted by community members, family and Scout Troop 262 of Clayton, Pesmark a created equestrian viewing bleachers, a hillside retaining wall, drainage and erosion prevention, as well as handicap-accessible packed gravel pathways around the horse arena.

Winning at the Golden Gate Council level means that the project can be considered for both regional and national service project recognition.
