Shop local – and get more for your money – with Concord bonus gift cards
CONCORD, CA – Who doesn’t love free money?
So if you want in on the new “Shop Concord” bonus program, all you have to do is snap up a gift card through the Chamber of Commerce.
Thanks to a $10,000 boost from the city of Concord, you can receive a free $25 e-gift card when you buy a $50 e-gift card. Or, get a $10 free e-gift card with a $20 purchase.
The cards can be used at any participating business, with the bonus promotion continuing until the city’s contribution runs out
“The momentum is changing for the better, and this program will help us step on the accelerator,” said Kevin Cabral, chamber president/CEO. “It’s an effective tool for engaging new customers that are starting to feel more comfortable about going out and returning to a sense of normalcy.”
A good start
Last November’s initial program was a resounding success. Participants purchased 978 e-gift cards with a total value of $31,020.
“The ‘Shop Concord’ promotion gave my business a real boost,” said Robin Eig, owner of Rockin’ Robbie’s East Bay Music. “I had customers downloading the gift cards in my store so they could take advantage of the promotion. It’s a great way for the city to support small businesses in Concord and give customers a nice gift as well.”
“The gift cards will be a good sales tool, while also providing a great value to our FlyCo Faithful,” added Joe Field. Field owns Flying Colors Comics & Other Cool Stuff.
Purchase e-gift cards at the city of Concord’s Yiftee page. The site also lists participating businesses.
Local business owners can still sign up to participate in the program at www.concordfirst.com/shop-concord. So be sure to check back frequently to see the expanding merchant list.
“As restrictions lift and businesses see light at the end of the tunnel, this is the perfect time to encourage people to get out there and spend local,” said Mayor Tim McGallian. “The collective wave of gift card purchases will go a long way toward helping our local businesses bounce back faster.”
