Pleasant Hill police warn of scam attempts

PLEASANT HILL, CA (Jan. 8, 2025) — The Pleasant Hill Police Dept. has received reports of recent attempts to spoof or duplicate their phone number, 925-288-4600. They are taking steps to prevent and investigate this.

If you get a phone call from PHPD, they advise that you verify by disconnecting and calling them back. Please use their non-emergency line, 925-288-4600.  You can reach this number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A PHPD Dispatcher can confirm if an Officer or other staff member is trying to reach you.

The police will never collect bail money, warrant bonds, or ask for any payments from anyone on the phone. Additionally, they do not accept pay-pal, cryptocurrency, gift cards or other methods of payment.

Please keep yourself safe and verify anything that seems suspicious, or people trying to falsely appear to represent the police over the phone.
