Pleasant Hill police and County Sheriff’s deputies apprehend suspect near Target
PLEASANT HILL, CA (Feb. 21, 2023) — Pleasant Hill Police assisted the county Sheriff in catching a suspect this morning near Target.
Around 11:50 AM the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from PHPD units after a known suspect fled from their deputies. This known suspect has a history of running from the police.
Officers had reason to believe the suspect might be armed. The man had been seen running to the rear of the Target store in North Pleasant Hill.
With further assistance from Pittsburg PD’s K9 Unit, CCCSO safely took the suspect into custody in a nearby parking garage a short time later.
PHPD praised the good working relationships with allied agencies in Contra Costa County. A department statement said that the cooperation “leads to our agencies taking more bad guys off the streets, and doing it safely.”
