UPDATE: One arrested after downtown Clayton stabbing incident

CLAYTON, CA (June 25, 2024) — On 6/25/2024, at approximately 1:01 pm, officers were dispatched to an altercation at 6026 Main St. An argument took place between two men, which turned physical. During the altercation, one of the men was stabbed multiple times. Both parties were still on scene when officers arrived. The victim, John Canesa (44) of Concord, was alert and speaking. He was transported to John Muir Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

The suspect, Peter Kerns (45) of Concord, was taken into custody and booked for 245 (a)(1) PC – Assault with a deadly weapon. There were no other victims or suspects in this case.
