New executive director joins Meals on Wheels Diablo Region

WALNUT CREEK, CA (July 10, 2024) — Meals on Wheels Diablo Region has announced that David Linnell will lead the organization through its next stage of growth as the new Executive Director. Linnell joins MOW Diablo Region with strong management and leadership skills and extensive experience with the mission of Meals on Wheels organizations.

Previously, Linnell served as the Chief Operating Officer at Meals on Wheels San Francisco. During his nearly decade-long tenure in top management roles at MOWSF, he oversaw the construction of a state-of-the-art kitchen and food storage facility. He also led the development of new headquarters and managed budgets to ensure the financial health of the organization. In addition, he contributed to the development of new programs and services.

“We conducted a comprehensive Executive Director search and are fortunate to have David join us,” says Renee Morgan, MOW Diablo Region Board Chair. “In addition to his understanding of senior food insecurity, he brings knowledge of our mission and the experience to help Meals on Wheels Diablo Region continue to meet the increased needs for our delivered meals and supportive services.”

In addition to his work experience, Linnell serves as a commissioner for the San Mateo Commission on Aging. He is an Advisory Board Member of Meals on Wheels California, where he chairs the Membership Committee.
