Mysterious $300M estate under construction in Contra Costa raises eyebrows

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Apr. 1, 2022) — Although you can’t see much of it from public roads, construction has begun on a planned palatial estate in rural Contra Costa County. Located on 24 acres with a spectacular view of Mt. Diablo, the identity of the owner remains unknown.

Is it a foreign billionaire? Maybe an actor or rock star? A cryptocurrency kingpin? So far, those who might know have kept quiet.

Plans show the main house, with around 13,000 square feet to play with, will have 24 bedrooms, seven full baths, two half baths, and a two-story library. Additional amenities will include a solarium, a wine cellar, and a three-story-high wood-paneled foyer. Besides the Italian revival-style mansion, the estate will have 2 guest houses with a combined 9 bedrooms.

For recreation, the occupants will have 3 swimming pools, a sunken tennis court and its own IMAX movie theater. Plans also show a private airstrip and rooftop helipad, as well as space for 20 cars in each of 2 massive garages.

If you wonder what the owner might do with 40 cars, the finished estate will have a 2-mile tri-oval race track.

Neighbors in the area wonder if private jets, helicopters and race cars might bring about too much disruption for the now-quiet area. They are also curious about the secrecy surrounding the new owner.

While we could not find the individual’s name, The Pioneer has learned that applications for construction permits were filed by a company called April Fools LLC.
