Monument Impacts services make community stronger
CONCORD (Dec. 23, 2024) — As the year draws to a close, Monument Impact executive director Judith Ortiz took a moment to reflect on the non-profit’s influence in the community.
“I’m filled with gratitude for a year that brought many wins and also pushed us to grow our programming and reach,” she said.
Here’s a snapshot of this year’s programs:
- 14 emerging business loans disbursed.
- 156 calls answered (housing advice, eviction support, etc.).
- 57 base building one-on-one tenant meetings.
- 781 doors knocked (creating awareness of new rent control policies, etc.)
- 297 day-jobs dispatched.
- 31 individuals supported by securing full-time employment.
- 246 completed tech classes (Spanish and Farsi).
- 156 rental assistance applications processed.
- 1,018 walk-ins and 1,779 phone calls at the Monument office.
- 36,605 outreach interactions for medical and cancer resources.
- 574 people enrolled in Medi-Cal.
“With many programs under our belt and different needs across our communities, these numbers tell only a fraction of our story,” Ortiz noted. “We are proud of our team in their ability to serve the community with agility and patience.”
According to Ortiz, community donations are essential to the organization’s ongoing success. “Help us continue to provide access to financial independence, housing stability and health resources.”
