Man killed at Concord gas station after being intentionally struck by vehicle; Suspect arrested
CONCORD, CA (Oct. 7, 2024) — Concord Police have reported the arrest of a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Sunday evening.
At approximately 7:45 PM, CPD officers responded to a gas station in the 2800 block of Grant Street for a disturbance involving a male struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and found a 33-year-old man with injuries caused by a vehicle impact. Officers and Paramedics provided medical aid, but the man died at the scene.
An investigation indicated that the victim was intentionally struck by a vehicle being driving by the suspect. The suspect fled the scene but was located a short distance away.
Officers arrested Alex Lazaro-Rosas, a 22-year-old Concord resident, on murder charges and booked him at county jail. The victim and suspect in this case were acquainted. The victim’s name is not being released pending notification of family.
