Long list of new food options in Concord
If you’re hungry, Concord has become the place to go for great new eating establishments.
In the past year, the Concord Chamber has welcomed many new restaurants/bars, including Puesto, Golden Corral, Residual Sugar, Big Country Kitchen, Gen Korean BBQ, Momo N Curry, Coffee Shop, Chipotle, Super Duper Burger, Wayback Burgers and MidiCi Italian Kitchen.
Chipotle, which recently opened at the Shops at Todos Santos, is the 2,500th restaurant in the chain and an example of Chipotle’s continued growth and a newly digitized restaurant experience. The company recently shared plans to open 140-155 new locations this year.
“The opening of Chipotle’s 2,500th restaurant is a milestone and a testament to our great growth trajectory,” said Tabassum Zalotrawala, Chipotle’s chief development officer.
Golden Corral opened on Diamond Boulevard in mid-February. It is an American, family-style chain serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It features a large, all-you-can-eat buffet and grill. The first Golden Corral Family Steak House opened in 1973 in Fayetteville, N.C. The company has since expanded to 500 locations across the United States.
Golden Corral sponsors Camp Corral, a free, one-of-a-kind summer camp for children of wounded, disabled or fallen military service members. It now provides 20 camps in 16 states and has served more than 4,000 children.
MidiCi Italian Kitchen opened a few weeks ago in the Willows Shopping Center. The MidiCi group, launched in Los Angeles in 2015, operates a franchise model with each location individually owned and operated. Local resident Heidi Ely owns the Concord location, which offers Neapolitan Pizza made the way the Italians invented it 300 years ago. “All of our meats and cheese are imported from Italy,” Ely said.
MidiCi’s mission is to create a place for people to meet, sit back and be social without the media, all while enjoying delicious appetizers, pizza, pasta and dessert. The wood-fired ovens, kitchen and bar take center stage in the restaurant.
With continued development in Concord, we look forward to more new restaurants coming to town. Our current restaurants represent more than 25 global cuisines, creating a diverse food scene in Concord.
