CLAYTON, CA (Sept. 3, 2024) — Kori and Sammy Barton have published another beautifully illustrated ABC book highlighting the treasures and history of East Bay communities. Their latest book brings Clayton into focus.

C is for Clayton is an alphabet picture book about the interesting facts, special people, and wonderful destinations in Clayton, California. The city’s past and present are beautifully woven together through vibrant artwork, whimsical poetry, and fascinating local history.

This book takes the reader on an educational and entertaining journey for visitors and Bay Area residents alike. All ages will enjoy it.

The husband and wife wrote the book together, while Kori created all of the illustrations. She was raised in Concord and spent much of childhood outdoors, exploring the area’s natural environment.

The couple’s two small children were the inspiration for the book and have experienced many of the sites in the book.

Kori uses acrylic paint to capture the sights of Clayton in a realistic/expressionist style.

Sammy is a pastor at North Creek Church in Walnut Creek, which Kori has attended since childhood. He is also an East Bay native and “is good with poetry and words,” said Kori.

She said writing these books are a hobby they can enjoy together. “And it was so much fun.”
