Letters to the Editor — Clayton Election
CLAYTON, CA (Oct. 22, 2024) — Dear Editor: I support Clayton’s “Do the right thing of RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, KINDNESS, SELF-DISCIPLINE, INTEGRITY, AND COURAGE”. I believe words and executing these values matter.
I received a flyer in the mail from ClaytonWatch.org. I found it hurtful that someone would send me this divisive flyer without any names supporting it. I concluded this flyer is hostile and its purpose is to intentionally undermine Holly Tillman’s reputation, credibility and character with random quotes and photos that are selected and do not tell the entire story.
ClaytonWatch.org is a PAC (FPPC ID #147612). The PAC purpose is to raise money and spend money to support or oppose candidates. On their website under “Popular Posts”, open City Council Recap, Councilmember Wan has 16 articles. The statement “We appreciate you for reading this article” and “Please support our cause with a small donation today!” appear under his articles. Most of the articles, responses, and posts are “ClaytonWatch or “Anonymous.” The majority of people on this website do not have the courage to acknowledge their own words.

Negative bashing
I live in Concord but my heart is in Clayton. If I could afford to still live there I would.
I am very involved in the CBCA and work most of the events we put on.I lived in Clayton for years. I find it a charming City filled with happiness. Clayton has great opportunities to grow. It can not grow with negative bashing of people running for City council.
I have spent several years now working Concerts in the grove. It brings in revenue and a great family fun. I am very disappointed in the group putting out mailings trashing council woman Holly Tillman. I believe Holly wants what is best for Clayton. I may not agree with all of what she believes but thats with eny candidates running for re election. I value Holly’s core beliefs.
The mailers claim to know the real Holly Tillman. They don’t. Holly Tillman is a well educated bright person of integrity. I have known Holly Tillman quite some time though St.Bonaventure Bulldogs track where she was coordinator and her husband Matt was head coach. I Have seen her daughters grow up into productive young women. Holly is Real. she is my friend.
