Joann Fabrics in Concord to close

CONCORD, CA (Feb. 12, 2025) — After being spared from the chopping block last spring, Joann Fabrics Concord store will close soon. The store, which anchors one end of the multi block Park & Shop appears to be included on the list of closings announced by the company.
The Ohio-based retailer plans to keep 300 of its stores, however 500 locations around the country will close. This includes 61 in California. The company said it was “a difficult decision.”
The 61-year-old business saw a slump in sales after a boom that came during the COVID pandemic. During the long lock-down, many Americans spent money on sewing supplies and crafting materials, however, that ended as inflation has grown over the last few years.
No specific timeline for the Concord store closing has been announced.
