CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (April 11, 2023) — The 19th annual Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour will include online and in-person tours – plus a new Green Home Features Showcase.

The event begins with two days of online inspiration on April 15 and 16.

The award-winning in-person tour includes more than 50 beautiful, water-conserving native plant gardens 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 6 and 7. All of the homes have native plant gardens, and 20 will be sharing their green home features – such as solar panels and batteries, induction ranges and heat pumps.

Registrants will learn how to design a native plant garden for color and interest throughout the year, garden for wildlife, lower their water bills, protect their family’s health and the environment by gardening without using pesticides, and get answers to questions about electrification.

California native plants are adapted to our soil and climate, naturally water conserving and easy to tend. They are better than non-native plants when it comes to attracting native birds, butterflies and other forms of wildlife.

And, as the gardens on the tour show, these lovely gardens display a sense of place that is uniquely Californian.
