Fatal vehicle collision on Clayton Road

Clayton, CA — The Clayton Police department received a report of a vehicle accident at approximately 9:36 a.m. Tuesday morning. The accident occurred in the 5400 block of Clayton Road (near Duncan Drive). Officers responded and found that a solo vehicle had crashed into an unoccupied, parked work truck. The truck belonged to a private utility company.

The female driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and the male passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, and was booked into county jail after being released from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

The Suspect/Driver is a 26 year old female from Pittsburg. The victim is a 24 year old male from Oakland.
