Fans flock to Contra Costa Con 4 to celebrate pop culture from Golden Age TV to Anime
CONCORD, CA (July 21, 2022) — Fans of icons from TV’s Golden Age and young devotees of video games and anime attended Contra Costa Con 4 in droves last Sunday at the Hilton Concord.
The pop culture show featuring toys, collectibles, comics, jewelry, artwork and more had nearly 100 tables for attendees to browse for products new and vintage.
The popular Contra Costa Con costume contest paid $200 cash to winners in the 13 and under and 14 and older age groups. Sophia won in the younger age group contest in her homemade costume as Nezuko Kamado from Demon Slayer. Cassandra was chosen from a field of great entries as Byleth Eisner (Fire Emblem).
Television stars Jerry Mathers (Beaver Cleaver of Leave it To Beaver), Jon Provost (Timmy from Lassie) and Charlotte Stewart (Miss Beadle on Little House on the Prairie) met their fans. They signed souvenirs brought to the show as well as photos from their show. Charlotte Stewart completely sold out of her book Little House in the Hollywood Hills and also her handmade tote bags.
The three stars along with voice actor extraordinaire Mark Dodson also took photos with their fans.
Star Wars characters from Rebel Legion Endor Base roamed Contra Costa Con throughout the day.
Bay Area Festivals and American Brick Builders presented the show. Their next events are Tri-Valley Halloween Con on Oct. 30 in Dublin and Contra Costa Con 5 March 12, 2023, at the Hilton.
