Earth Day photo challenge — help the planet and win prizes

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (4/6/2021) — Earth Day 2021 is coming up April 22. The annual event helps promote environmental protection and care for our home planet.

Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery would like to challenge you to go out and #beresourceful this month.

Go out into the environment and help care for Mother Earth. Try going to the beach to pick up some litter, or to your local park and show some love by ­exercising and enjoying the fresh air. Perhaps plant some flowers, vegetables, or a tree. Be creative and have fun, like your local garbage and recycling ­company loves to do.

Take a photo of your efforts, the more creative the better.  Then post on Facebook or Instagram with the tag #BeResourcefulOnEarthDay2021 for a chance to win a cool prize. Please encourage your friends and family to get involved and help us care for the planet this Earth Day from a distance.

Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery provides residential and commercial collection services to the cities of Concord, Pittsburg, Oakley, Rio Vista and unincorporated areas throughout Contra Costa and Solano Counties. In addition, the company processes recycling materials for RecycleSmart, which serves the cities of Danville, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Walnut Creek, and portions of unincorporated Contra Costa County.
