Diablo Valley Literacy Council seeking tutors for ESL Adults

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Aug. 24, 2023) — The Diablo Valley Literacy Council is offering a fall session for adults who have interest in helping ESL ( English As A Second Language ) adult neighbors to read, write and speak ENGLISH.

English need not be your first language. Teaching experience is not a requirement. We will teach you how to tutor.

You will help your student gain confidence and skills which will lead to better jobs, citizenship, and more. You choose the location and time — volunteers typically schedule 1 session a week for 1 or 2 hours. A nominal $20 covers training, material cost, light refreshment, annual membership dues and ongoing support.

When: Saturday, September 23 and 30, 2023
