Dave and Buster’s, the Texas-based restaurant chain, opens its first east bay location in Concord’s Veranda shopping center on Labor Day.

The 47,000-square-foot eatery combines a full menu of chef-crafted food with a sports bar and game arcade, including interactive games and simulators.

On Thursday, Concord Mayor Carlyn Obringer, along with city officials and members of the Chamber of Commerce, attended a ribbon cutting. Attendees were invited to sample both food and arcade games.

Several dozen large HDTVs cover the walls to provide groups of all sizes a place to cheer their favorite sports teams and enjoy creative cocktails.

The Concord location will employ around 230 people when fully staffed and a few of those positions are still open. Click here to see what jobs are still available and to apply online.

Doors officially open at the Veranda on Monday, Sept. 2.
