Where to go to cool off in Concord during this week’s heat wave
CONCORD, CA (June 15, 2021) — Temperatures are on the rise, with the hottest day of the week forecast for Thursday when Concord is expected to see a high of 108 degrees.
To help residents stay cool, the City will open the Concord Senior Center, 2727 Parkside Circle, as a Cooling Center on Wednesday, June 16 and Thursday, June 17, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
You can find the entrance to the Cooling Center on the west side of the building. Note that all CDC precautions to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission will stay in effect. This includes the use of face coverings and social distancing.

- Veranda LUXE Cinema & IMAX
- Meadow Homes Spray Park (1351 Detroit Ave.), which reopens June 15 at noon
