Contra Costa offers free rides on all buses and paratransit for all of October
Ride County Connection buses for free all this month.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Oct. 9, 2022) — You can ride all County Connection buses and paratransit for free during the entire month of October. Travel requires no payment for any passenger.

Federal stimulus funding makes the month of free rides possible. The move is intended to help essential workers save money and encourage commuters to take public transit.

While public transit ridership numbers remain below pre-pandemic levels, County Connection has doubled its passenger count in the past two years. Given recent increases in traffic congestion, gas prices, and climate change impacts, public transit provides a greener, cost-effective alternative to driving alone.

Take advantage of the free travel for the entire month of October.
