Contra Costa Health Officer discusses “slow opening” plan

Contra Costa County relaxed some shelter in place restrictions last week and made testing available for everyone. (Read: Hoping to gather more data, Contra Costa will not restrict COVID-19 testing)

In the coming days and weeks, the county will closely monitor five key metrics which will determine the timetable for further reopening the economy.

First and foremost, the total number of cases of COVID-19 and the number of hospitalizations must be flat or decreasing. County Health Officer, Dr. Chris Farnitano explained all five metrics in detail at Saturday’s virtual Town Hall with Concord mayor, Tim McGallian.
