Contra Costa County Fire responds to early morning vehicle fire

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Sept. 21, 2022) — Fire crews had an early morning in Bay Point today.

Engines 86 and 87 responded to an abandoned vehicle fire around 5am. Crews found the vehicle in the middle of a marsh with minor extension to the vegetation surrounding it.

They quickly contained the blaze and prevented a larger fire from getting started. We thank our fire fighters for their round-the-clock vigilance.

Recent rains have improved fire conditions in the area, but with temperatures going back up into the 90’s this weekend, fire season isn’t over yet.
