Concord and Pleasant Hill Libraries ring in Lunar New Year with Lion Dances
CONCORD and PLEASANT HILL, CA (Jan. 9, 2025) — The Concord and Pleasant Hill library branches will celebrate the 2025 Year of the Snake with Lion Dance performances by the Concord-based Tomizaki’s Champions King Fu Institute.
The Clayton Valley Charter High School’s Chinese Cultural Club will showcase the Lion Dance along with crafts at the Concord Library on Monday, Jan. 27, from 6 to 7 p.m.
Children will receive a “Lai See,” a red envelope containing a “sweet” surprise. Then, Tomizaki’s students will bring their Lion Dance performance to the Pleasant Hill branch on Tuesday, Feb. 4. That performance begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Lunar New Year programs are made possible by the Friends of the Concord Library and Friends of the Pleasant Hill Library, respectively.
