CLAYTON, CA (Apr. 21, 2024) —From toddlers to grandparents, residents in Clayton scoured the town for trash at Saturday’s Clayton Cleans Up event.

The annual gathering helps get the streets and parks sparkling ahead of the city’s Art and Wine Festival coming up on April 27-28. Folks in matching event t-shirts filled bright orange trash bags with waste from the parks, creek beds and anywhere they could find it.

Others spruced up flower beds raked up leaves and weeds. The previously rainy weekend weather gave way to sunshine which helped make it a successful event.

Following the trash pick-up, attendees returned to city hall for the free BBQ featuring hamburgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill.
