Clayton’s new ice cream shop finally ready to open

CLAYTON, CA (Nov. 30, 2022) — Ice cream lovers in Clayton will finally get a chance to satisfy their cravings when Sip ‘n Sweet opens its doors this month.

The shop had planned to open this summer, but supply-chain issues delayed getting freezers installed. Local owners Danielle Andre-Grimsey and her husband Patrick were disappointed to miss summer events such as the Pride Parade, Fourth of July, BBQ Cook-off and Oktoberfest.

And, while Christmas is not generally known as an ice cream–focused holiday, Sip ‘n Sweet will serve up a wide variety of offerings including yogurt, coffee drinks, Hawaiian shaved ice and even French crepes.

“There’s no place in Clayton for kids to hang out,” Andre-Grimsey told The Pioneer last June. “We really want to be that place.”

The shop is on the corner of Marsh Creek Road and Center Avenue in the Village Oaks building space formerly occupied by Snap Fitness.
