Clayton Valley Charter High extends closure until May 1
Letter from Jim Scheible, Executive Director at CVCHS:
Today, seven Bay Area county health officers, in collaboration with the six county superintendents of schools have made a unified, regional decision to extend school closures through May 1st, 2020. (Click here to read more)
Last night, the CVCHS Governing Board met and determined that our school would follow the recommendations of our county’s health department. Given this, the earliest CVCHS will reopen to students is now May 4th, 2020.
CVCHS Administration is closely monitoring the situation and will provide further information regarding the guidance provided by local county officials. We know this announcement will produce a new set of concerns and questions. Please look for an update from CVCHS later this week that will include information regarding Spring Break, as well as a note to our senior families about the end of year activities that we look forward to celebrating.
In the meantime, we want to encourage our students to continue their daily distance learning assignments and our families to follow health protocols — including shelter in place and other directives — for our collective well-being.
Regardless of this announcement, CVCHS’ teachers and staff remain committed to ensuring that high academic expectations continue to guide our students’ academic progress. It’s important that all of our students stay in an engaging, productive routine, completing coursework, and communicating with their teachers online.
We want to reinforce with parents that CVCHS is not pausing your child’s progress towards their next step – whether it’s college or the next grade. During our school closure, we are striving to maximize our time with each student and operate with a sense of high academic expectations.
Additionally, our Food & Nutrition Services program will continue to provide free meals for all students and children in our community. Please visit our website (www.claytonvalley.org

We appreciate everyone’s patience and resolve during this unprecedented time.
