Clayton resident shares pumpkin bounty with Oakland Zoo elephants

Clayton resident shares pumpkin bounty with Oakland Zoo elephantsCLAYTON, CA—Life is gourd…Especially if you’re an elephant.

Clayton resident Jennifer Clark knows elephants love pumpkins. When she heard the Oakland Zoo could use uncarved, unwashed pumpkins to feed to the animals, she jumped into action.

Within 24 hours of posting on social media, she had more than 150 pumpkins — enough pumpkins to fill her side yard and much of her garage.

Luckily, her brother has truck big enough to hold them all and today they delivered the pumpkins to the zoo.

Clearly, Jennifer wasn’t the only one to take up the cause.
