Big Lots store in Concord to close as company axes dozens of locations

CONCORD, CA (July 28, 2024) — Big-box retailer Big Lots Inc. plans to close a number of stores this year, including the one on Monument Blvd.

The Columbus, Ohio-based Big Lots disclosed in its latest quarterly report that it plans to shutter 35 to 40 stores in 2024. The company did not include a list of store closures in the report. However, the store locator feature on the Big Lots website shows a banner indicating they are “Closing this location” for the Concord store.

The announcement gave no schedule for when the Concord store will close permanently.
