Baseball is Back! Concord Junior Giants at Home virtual season starts this week
Concord Junior Giants ambassador Livier Johnson Villalobos has announced the local launch of Junior Giants at Home this week for the first of two summer seasons.
The free, four-week season runs through July 4.
Junior Giants at Home is free and open to girls and boys 5-18 years of age.
The approximate 30-minute team-style practices focus on physical activity and nutrition, baseball/softball skills and drills, readying, bullying prevention and the Junior Giants 4 bases of character development: leadership, teamwork, confidence and integrity.
The Giants Community Fund announced that two four-week seasons will be offered this summer. The program launched with over 4,300 kids from 24 states and four countries taking part.
The sessions are in English, however if families need Spanish we are willing to do practices in Spanish, says Johnson Villalobos. She can be reached at concord.jrg@gmail.com.
Registration is now open: https://jrgiantsathome.org/concord/register.
The second season is scheduled July 6-Aug. 1. Registration for that season opens June 22 and runs through July 5.
