Area teens help boys and girls play Junior Giants baseball

East Bay teens Dawson Mann and Nick Walker co-founded Headfirst Leadership: Beyond the Field, a non-profit helping underserved youth in the area play baseball during the summer. This is their third year of the Beyond the Field equipment drive and it allowed the group to donate over 1000 items (clothes, cleats, bats, mitts and helmets) to Concord Junior Giants at the league’s opening ceremony last month at the Concord American Little League fields. Walker will be attending Stanford University this fall while Mann will be attending University Nevada Reno. They intend on continuing this program while in college.
