‘A Night in New Orleans,’ a great night for Clayton Valley Music Program

WALNUT CREEK, CA (Mar. 30, 2025) – The inaugural Jazz Dinner Dance, “A Night in New Orleans,” hosted by the Clayton Valley Instrumental Music program, was a vibrant success. Held at the Walnut Creek Center for Community Arts on March 29, the event drew a large crowd eager to support the school’s music department.
Attendees were treated to an evening of authentic New Orleans cuisine, lively big band music, and dancing. The event featured performances by local Bay Area jazz artists and the talented CVCHS Instrumental Music ensembles. Guests also enjoyed line dancing lessons.
The highlight of the night was the live music, culminating in a spirited performance by The West Grand Brass Band, who kept the energy high and the dance floor packed, jamming past the scheduled 9 PM end time.
The online silent auction, which preceded the event, contributed to the fundraising efforts. Proceeds from the dinner dance and auction will go towards the purchase of new instruments for the CVCHS Bands and Orchestra. It also supports the continued growth and success of the program.
The event at the Walnut Creek Community Arts Center made for a memorable evening.
