Black History Month Seek and Find. Children can search for images of books by Black authors and illustrators throughout the month of February. Find them all to receive a prize. Complete an additional challenge on the back of the game sheet to win a second prize.
Unique Derique: Humor, History and Hambone Body Percussion. A children’s program in honor of Black History Month, 2-2:45 p.m. Feb. 12. Sponsored by the Clayton Community Library Foundation.
Homework Help. For elementary school students, 3:45-5:45 p.m. Wednesdays. Some assistance also available for sixth and seven graders. To make an appointment, either call or stop by the library. Drop-ins welcome on a space available basis.
Lapsit Storytime. For children aged 0-3, 11-11:15 a.m. Thursdays. Children must attend with caregiver.
Toddler/Preschool Storytime. For children ages 2-5, 11:30 a.m.-noon Thursdays. Children must attend with caregiver. Stay and play toys available afterward.
The Soul Box Project. Adults, teens and anyone 9+ can join this thought-provoking community art initiative to raise awareness about the impact of violence in our nation, 4-6 p.m. Feb. 13. Participants are invited to create origami Soul Boxes, each representing a life affected by gunfire. Registration recommended; drop-ins welcome on a space available basis.
Teen Thursday: Button Making Party. Those in 6th-12th grades can make 1.5- and 2-inch buttons, 4-5 p.m. Feb. 20. Draw your own or find pictures you like from graphic novels or magazines. All supplies provided. Sponsored by the Clayton Community Library Foundation.
