UPDATE JAN. 17, 2025: BART has announced that the previously scheduled closure has been postponed. Expect regular service on Jan. 18-19.

CONCORD, CA (Jan. 15, 2025) — Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) will suspend train service between the Concord and Walnut Creek stations Jan. 18-19 to replace decades-old track components and improve reliability.

Free buses will shuttle passengers between the Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre and Concord stations during the service disruption. Passengers traveling in the affected area should anticipate delays of 20 to 30 minutes.

BART officials say the closure is necessary to ensure a safe work environment and allow for the replacement project to proceed efficiently.

Schedule

On Saturday morning, Jan. 18, the southbound trains departing Concord at 5:37 a.m. and 5:57 a.m. will be canceled. Southbound trains to San Francisco will begin at Walnut Creek at 5:45 a.m., 6:05 a.m. and 6:25 a.m.

Connecting buses will depart Concord at 5:23 a.m., 5:43 a.m. and 6:03 a.m., and Pleasant Hill at 5:30 a.m., 5:50 a.m., and 6:10 a.m.
