So This Happened…Week of Jan. 6-12, 2025

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA, (Jan. 12, 2025) — The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office has filed a three-count felony complaint against a man profiled on “American Nightmare” for a different kidnapping.

The 2024 season of the Netflix series focused on the 2015 kidnapping of Denise Huskins, for which Matthew Daniel Muller is serving a 40-year federal prison sentence in Tucson. The new charges stem from a previously unreported 2015 kidnapping for ransom in unincorporated San Ramon.

Meanwhile, the Pleasant Hill Police Department is sounding the alarm about attempts to “spoof” its phone number, 925-288-4600. If you get a phone call from PHPD, officials advise that you disconnect and call back on the department’s non-emergency line at 925-288-4600. *Pete: new story here
