Peter Stephen Chrobak, Resident of Clayton, California.

Peter “Pete” Stephen Chrobak passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, from complications related to a lung infection. He was surrounded by many family members and friends during his last days.

Pete was born in Sharon, Pa., and graduated from Sharon High School. He earned his degree in Accounting from Youngstown State University and went on to earn a master’s degree in accounting. Pete enjoyed a very long career as treasurer for US Steel/Posco in Pittsburg, Calif. Pete loved to play and coach basketball, was an avid runner for many years, and devoted much of his time to the Catholic church. He served at St. Bonaventure as lector, sang in the choir, and participated in countless church functions.

His favorite place to be was on the beach at Lake Tahoe, where the family vacationed together for decades. He loved traveling the world with his loving wife, Carol. His gentle spirit, great sense of humor, generosity, and kind heart will be missed by so many. Pete is survived by his devoted wife, Carol; children, Dave, Mike, Deb, and Lori; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Rita, Judy, and Bob. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Julia, and his sister, Chris.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Friday, Sept. 27, at noon, St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 5562 Clayton Rd. Concord. Reception to follow.
