Clayton Valley Charter to Host First Robotics Event in Eight Years

Last spring, the CVCHS Juniors Team 94517x competed the VEX Robotics World Championship.

CONCORD, CA (Sept. 9, 2024) — Clayton Valley Charter High School is set to host the Bay Area season opener of the VEX V5RC robotics competition after an eight-year break. The school will hold its inaugural UGLY Robotics High Stakes Tournament event on Sat., Sept. 14.

More than 150 high school and middle school students from the Bay Area and Sacramento will participate in the competition. The event will feature head-to-head robotic matches and pit tours, allowing attendees to observe how teams prepare and maintain their robots during the competition.

The event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday in the large gym, is free and open to the public. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the CVCHS Robotics Club.

CVCHS Robotics is a no-fee club and sport that offers free STEM education to students. Donations will support registration fees, travel expenses, and the purchase of parts and tools for the robots. To contribute, visit the CVCHS webstore.
