College Park wrestling team wins top state academic honor

PLEASANT HILL, CA (July 18, 2024) — College Park High School was honored last month by the California Interscholastic Federation was honored for achieving the highest collective grade point average of any boys wrestling team in the state this past school year.

Falcon wrestlers were one of seven North Coast Section teams earning the CIF honor among the 39 state academic team champions for 2023-24. Coach Jim Keck’s team posted a 3.82 GPA. On the mat the Falcons were fourth at the NCS Dual Team Championships and also were Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division champs.

“So proud of these young men! They are winners on the mat, in the community and in the classroom. Truly honored to see them recognized by the CIF for their excellence in the classroom,” Keck said.

Berean Christian’s competitive cheer team also won the state award.
