Obituary — Charlotte (Sherry) Grace (Hays) Burgess

CONCORD, CA (July 19, 2023) — Charlotte (Sherry) Grace (Hays) Burgess, 82, of Concord died June 12, 2023, at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

She was born Jan. 26, 1941, in Lisle, Ill., the daughter of John L. and Aleece (Stanley) Hays. Sherry graduated from Noblesville High School in Noblesville, Ind., in 1959.

She married Jim Burgess and they resided in Concord for many years. Jim died in 1991.

She loved to travel and visit friends and family. Music was always a part of her life. Sherry was quite a piano player and enjoyed sharing that with others. Everyone remembers Sherry with a big, warm smile on her face.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Jane H. Cook, and four brothers, Lowell, William, Deke and Don.

Survivors include her sister, Patricia A. (Hays) Mullins, and many nieces and nephews.

No service is planned. Burial will be in Lane, Kan.
