Concord Announces Recruitment for Additional Representatives to the Homeless Strategic Plan Working Group

Concord, Calif. (May 4, 2023) – On May 2, the Concord City Council amended the composition of the Homeless Strategic Plan Working Group.

The change includes one representative who is from, or who has experience working with, the LGBTQI+ community. Another representative will be an active owner or manager of a business based in Concord. The amendment opens a recruitment for these two positions. Applications for these two positions are due to the City Clerk by Friday, May 26, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.

The Working Group will assist the City as it begins developing its Homeless Strategic Plan. The Homeless Strategic Plan Working Group acts as an advisory body to Council, staff and the project consultants. It meets in person once per month, at minimum, for approximately nine to 12 months. Members listen, discuss, and provide feedback while the strategic plan is shaped. Members should attend all meetings, read all materials, and be prepared to listen and engage on the topics discussed.

The Working Group’s first two meetings occurred on March 22 and April 24. The next scheduled meeting happens Monday, May 22, at the Concord Senior Center, 2727 Parkside Circle, at 6 p.m. The council encourages applicants to attend the May 22 meeting.

You can find information about the Homeless Strategic Plan Working Group on the City’s website. Go to the application form online here.
