Volunteers needed for Concord’s Refuge Food Pantry
CONCORD, CA (August 28, 2022) — Refuge Food Pantry has volunteer and internship positions available for different areas.
Refuge Food Pantry is a coalition of churches, organizations and individuals on mission in the Monument Corridor to end food insecurity in the neighborhood. Started by a group of neighbors in 2010 that saw a need in their community, the pantry became a ministry of Refuge Church (formerly Parkhaven Baptist) and continues to serve the Monument neighborhood.
As an Agency Partner with The Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano, they fight to end hunger. The number of households the pantry serves has grown exponentially. Originally providing 200 supplemental meals/week pre-COVID-19, they now distribute upwards of 2000 supplemental meals each week.
Volunteer your time and your talent. Donate your resources. One hour of your time means one more meal for a neighbor in need. The food pantry is fully funded by the generosity of Partners like you and grants.
