CONCORD, CA (Jan. 21, 2022) — I scream. You scream. We all scream for…Cream Puffs?

Janice and Rolando Sanchez realized a lifelong dream today when they opened their Japanese-themed bakery in downtown Concord. The small shop across from Todos Santos Plaza saw a steady stream of customers this afternoon as the Concord Chamber of Commerce, joined by Councilmember Carlyn Obringer and Colleen Awad from Supervisor Karen Mitchoff’s office, cut the ribbon.

A happy Obringer welcomed the husband and wife team. “I live within walking distance,” she said. “I’ll be here all the time.”

The shop gets its name from the white-bearded Japanese creator of the custom made goodies who concocted a cream puff “as fluffy as my beard.”
