Clayton Police report March 2021, LPR camera helps foil stolen car attempt

CLAYTON, CA— On 03/27/21 at approximately 9:35 PM, officers were alerted by a License Plate Recognition camera that a stolen vehicle had just entered the City of Clayton. Officers immediately began looking for the stolen vehicle. Officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle as it traveled on Clayton Rd.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Diablo Pkwy near Marsh Creek Rd and took the driver and passenger into custody without incident. Both the driver and the passenger had warrants for their arrest for burglary.

The vehicle was taken into police custody and will be released to the owner.

The dates shown below indicate when the incident was reported to the Clayton Police Department.

ARRESTS

March 7, 6100 Center St.  A 36-year-old transient male was arrested after officers responded to a call for service. He was charged with exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm and battery on a person. He was transported to the Concord Police Department for booking.

March 20, Clayton Rd./Washington Blvd. A 20-year-old Antioch female was arrested on a warrant after being stopped for Vehicle Code violations.  She was released on her signed promise to appear.
