Help precious Kirk find a new home in the new year
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY—As we tiptoe into 2021, we hope that it will be brighter. And that is especially true for one senior dog named Kirk, who’s available for adoption at Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF).
If anyone is ready for a new year, it’s 11-year-old Kirk. This warm-hearted pit bull mix became homeless soon after the onset of COVID-19. The ARF team rescued him in April 2020, transporting him from a municipal shelter that didn’t have the medical resources to treat his extensive needs. Our veterinary team removed cancerous tumors, treated skin and ear infections and eased Kirk’s arthritis pain.
Kirk’s cuddly and goofy personality emerged after he recovered in a nurturing foster home with an ARF volunteer. His affectionate nature has gained him many fans during his time with ARF. Several artists have highlighted Kirk’s charm, and one fan has even generously sponsored his adoption fee.
But after nine long months, Kirk is still waiting to find his forever family.
The great news is – you can help. Spread the word by sharing Kirk’s profile from arflife.org/help/kirk with friends, family, co-workers and on social media. We know the perfect adopter is out there for Kirk; we just need your help to find them.
Despite all of the challenges and uncertainties we’ve faced during this pandemic, we’re able to give animals like Kirk a second chance thanks to our community’s generosity. ARF stands committed to finding Kirk a loving home – no matter how long it takes.
