Boards, commission seats aplenty for Contra Costa residents to serve
Contra Costa County needs you.
Opportunities abound for individuals who are willing to commit as little as one day a month to a variety of county boards or commissions that serve in an advisory role to the county’s board of supervisors. In some cases, a stipend is paid for those serving on the panel. Here are two recent call outs for applicants:
Racial Justice Oversight
The Racial Justice Oversight Body is seeking representatives to fill seven seats.
Experience with prior personal criminal or juvenile justice system involvement; representatives from community-based organizations that work with justice-involved populations, any age; a representative from a community-based organization that works with justice-involved youth; representative from a faith-based organization; and one representative that is either a school age young person or from a community-based organization who provides services to school age youth.
Appointments to the Racial Justice Oversight Body will be for a term of two years that will be effective as of January 1, 2021, and ending December 31, 2022. Meeting quarterly, its members also serve on its three subcommittees that each currently meet on a monthly basis, and serve without compensation, stipends, or reimbursement of expenses.
Applications can be obtained by visiting the County webpage at contracosta.ca.gov/3418. Completed applications are due by 5 p.m. October 19, and should be emailed to ClerkoftheBoard@cob.cccounty.us.
Mosquito and Vector Control
