Contra Costa Food Bank and MOW volunteers step up

Despite the orders from Contra Costa Health Services and the state level for residents to stay home as part of the “Shelter in Place” declarations, nonprofit operations like Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano and Meals on Wheels are deemed “essential,” and armies of volunteers continue to show up to meet their commitments to ensure those in need are served.

At the Food Bank’s Concord warehouse, volunteers do every thing from bagging fruit, to sorting non-perishable donated items, to readying thousands of canned goods for the next day’s distribution boxing efforts.
