3 Ways to Enrich your Mind in Contra CostaButterfly Walk

A 2-mile round-trip for beginning and advanced lepidopterists. Join naturalist David Morris on the first MDIA butterfly walk of the season. Participants will look for butterflies and flowers in the Mitchell Canyon area. Rain cancels. Sponsored by Mt. Diablo Interpretive Association. This screening of short films focuses on America’s prescription drug/opioid addiction and overdose death epidemic. Included are some very short PSA’s produced by Contra Costa County CourAGE Youth Coalition. The event is moderated by April Rovero, the San Ramon mother whose son died in 2009 from an accidental overdose. Rovero is Executive Director of the National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse and Chairperson of the Contra Costa County MEDS Coalition. A docent from the Asian Art Museum explores the myriad and fascinating depictions of female deities throughout Asia. Goddesses play an important and prominent role in all Asian religions.
