Get ready for rockin’ blues and cool cars at Todos Santos Plaza
Concord’s Tuesday Night Blues series kicks off on Tuesday, July 2, in Todos Santos Plaza, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The July 2 event will also include the Cool Concord Cars show from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Vintage and exotic cars will be parked around the plaza for photo-ops. The event lets proud owners show off the bright and shiny vehicles of yesteryear. Expect lots of polished color and glistening chrome.
Roy Rogers and the Delta Rhythm Kings
Master slide guitarist Roy Rogers and the Delta Rhythm Kings take the stage Tuesday. Their playlist includes classics and originals ranging from the acoustic slide blues of Robert Johnson and Lightning Hopkins to the rockin’ blues of John Lee Hooker. In addition, you’ll hear Muddy Waters songs such as “Shake Your Money Maker,” “Walkin’ Blues,” “Terraplane Blues,” “Dust My Broom,” and “The Sky is Crying.” For more information go to www.roy-rogers.com.
Visitconcordca.com has this advice for those planning to attend:
Get there early: Arrive before the music starts to enjoy delicious food trucks.
Grab a beer: Stop by E.J. Phair or The Hop Grenade for a beer before the show. Or sit on their patios and enjoy the music from afar.
Bring the whole family: This is a family-friendly event. The plaza has a playground and large grass area for kids to play and dance. Sorry, no furry friends allowed in Todos Santos Plaza.
